Professor Guus Wijngaards


Prof Kathleen Maas WeigertProf Wijngaards is at present Professor of eLearning at Inholland University of Applied Sciences, Rotterdam, the Netherlands. In 1986 he acquired a Doctorate in Literature at the Radboud University of Nijmegen. His dissertation was: 'De Bibliothèque Choisie van Jean Le Clerc (1657-1736), een Amsterdams geleerdentijdschrift uit de jaren 1703 tot 1713' (APA-Holland Universiteits Pers, Amsterdam & Maarssen).
In the last 25 years, as Secretary General of AEDE (l'Association Européenne des Enseignants), Project Manager of several European Union projects, Deputy-Director of EUN (European Schoolnet in Brussels), then Professor at Inholland University, he has been an invited expert and speaker at more than 150 conferences, congresses, seminars etc. in all continents.
During the same period he published several books, among them: European Handbook: Internet at School (Natur och Kultur, Stockholm); with J. Fransen and P. Swager (2007): Teenagers and their Digital World. What Teachers and Parents should know (2007, now among Amazon Books]; (ed.) with K. Moyle: Students’ reactions to learning with technologies: Perceptions and outcomes (IGI Publishing 2012). He also published some 300 articles on educational, cultural, foreign political and literary subjects.
